Joana caught her first wave on a bodyboard at the age of 13 and since that day she has never stopped again.  Making the sport a priority she managed to finish high school and pursuing her dream of becoming a professional athlete simultaneously.  Training every day and competing from a very young age, she quickly became successful in many competitions and started to get attention for her good performances.  She started to compete in the junior division in 2002, one year later she already made it into her first European event final. In 2004 she was Portuguese Junior champion, Portuguese Open Vice Champion and European Junior Champion. Not satisfied with simply being good, she always keeps striving to improve her surfing and challenging her limits.
Today she has won many national and European titles and is considered to be one of the most talented and stylish riders in Europe.
Joana lives in and around the ocean, whenever she is not training at the beaches of her hometown, Sagres, she is travelling for competitions and free surfing or working with the local bodyboarding club coaching young kids.
With her peculiar way of loving life and all good things about it, she is very enthusiastic about health and environmental issues, so Joana tries to be an example and inspire others to enjoy nature and to pursue a healthy lifestyle.  One of her favourite activities is to cook up some vegan food for friends and family.
2014 was an outstanding year for Joana, she won important events, such as the Miss Sumol Cup and the Casablanca Pro on the ETB European tour, scored 3 wins and 2 second places on the National Pro Tour, including 1st place at Nazaré Prime event in big classic conditions, as a result she became European and National champion 2014.

Adnane BENSLIMANE is a Moroccan bodyboarder, born on November 1st, 1981 in Casablanca. He cultivated his passion for bodyboarding on the beaches of Dar Bouazza, 20Km in the south of Casablanca, in 1996.

Within only two years, this young bodyboarder made a meteoric rise, becoming the Moroccan Junior Champion in 1998.

Following his long and distinguished career during competitions and national championships, he went to France for improving his Bodyboard’s knowlegdes. His first participation in "National Bodyboarding Tour" surprised everyone and won the first place.

The help of his parents allowed him to follow the European Tour of Bodyboard. His first european contest in 2001, was amazing and won the fifth place. He made several trips around the world, to become in a few years, one of the best athlete of the European Tour. In 2002, through a series of good performances, he achieves good rankings : sixth in the provisional world ranks and seventh in Europe.

A second passion was born, graphic art and design, that Adnane studied a few years later, without giving up his passion for bodyboarding.

In 2010, the last event of the European Tour was unbelievable. Adnane won the contest and found his place in the European Top 10. At 30 years old, this bodyboard’s lover continues to expose more and more his undeniable talent and win the Moroccan Championship in 2011. His latest achievement is winning all contests of the national tour MBTC in 2012.

Since the beginning of his career, Adnane BENSLIMANE defends his passion and colors of the nation all around the world.

Today with the support of his sponsors, Maroc Telecom and Extreme Bodyboards, he can finally realise his dreams and follow the World Tour to represent his country.

Dave Winchester is the new bodyboarding coaching director of Surfing New South Wales.

The professional bodyboarder born in Paddington, New South Wales, will be sharing his coaching tips and development clinics with the wave riding community.

"David is a class act and a great role model for all people who participate in the bodyboarding discipline," says Mark Windon, CEO at Surfing NSW.

"For several years now he's been regarded as one of the world's best and most credible bodyboarders and it's a massive feather in our cap for Surfing NSW to have him on board."

Surfing NSW has also announced that there will be two rounds of the NSW Bodyboard State Titles in 2014. Total points from both rounds will be tallied and used to select the team to represent the state at the 2014 national titles.

The first NSW Bodyboard State Title events will take place, at Kiama, between 2nd-4th May.

"I hope I can help improve the growth of grassroots bodyboarding in the near future. I appreciate all the luxuries bodyboarding has afforded me and I'm excited if I can help any other aspiring bodyboarders to help chase their dreams as well," added Dave Winchester.

At only 22, 2011 World Champion Pierre Louis Costes is already considered as one of the best bodyboarders of the world,he possesses at a very young age insane skills in the water and shows no fear when s he s riding a wave. PLC is easily the best young rider in the world and the best bodyboarder ever come from Europe. 

Born in Vichy in 1990, a city in the center of France, Pierre -Louis wasn t destined to be a pro bodyboarder, his parents and him then moved to Antibes on the mediterranean side of France for 7 years.

When Pierre s grand father died in 1998 in Morocco, his family and him moved there to take his business back.In Christmas 1999, Pierre received a present that will change his life forever, a bodyboard , a Mike Stewart s pro model. Since this day, every time he had the chance to be on the beach, he would spend hours in the water starting to show early a real talent for the sport.His parents support Pierre s bodyboarding ability and took him to the beach as often as possible.At 10, Pierre entered his first amateur bodyboarding contest and won.
In 2001, Pierre moved back to France with his sister and Mum and in 2002,Pierre won his first national title in the under 14 category. Big surfing brand Rip Curl start to be interested in the kid s potential and offer him his first sponsorship contract.
After Winning 3 national titles and the european title, Pierre went for the second time in Australia in 2005 to enter the australian national tour.For the first contest on the Gold Coast ,he started from the trials winning heats after heats,Pierre ended up winning the event in front of the best riders of the world such as Mitchell Rawlins,Mickael Novy or Damian King and started to turn heads on the professional bodyboarding scene . Pierre came 3 rd in the next event. At 15 , Pierre was leading the most prestigious national tour of the world.The same year he decided to enter his first world tour event for the Sintra pro, and to confirm his status of the next big thing, Pierre made the semi finals.After all his competitive results and his performance in the water all year, Pierre was voted ”best grom” by the magazine Riptide, and he s never been beaten since.
Pierre earned the confidence of his sponsors and at 15 he turned pro.
Just before turning 16 ,Pierre entered his first Pipe contest,all he needed to pass his first heat was less than 4 points, at the last second of the heat,he took off on the biggest wave of the contest and tried a back flip on a 10 ft monster, sure he didn t make the heat but his name was on everyone s tongue after, a 15 years old french kid just stole the show from everyone and let the beach with no words. Pierre had himself 8 boards contracts to choose from after this hawaiian season.
In 2006,Pierre left from NMD to join Nick Mesritz s new project VS joining the 2 best riders of the world,Ryan Hardy and Mitchell Rawlins.With the financial support of his sponsors ,he started his first steps on the world tour finishing 28 th on his first year.
The next year, he placed 8th on the world ranking reaching for the first time a final of a world contest , a 3 rd place in the Arica Challenge.
In 2008, after a 3 rd place in the Arica challenge and a second place in the Sintra Pro, Pierre was for the first time in contention for the world title during the last event, unfortunately he didn t pass the first round and was ranked 4 th overall in the world ranking.
In 2009, Pierre entered in the history with a second place at the most prestigious contest of the world,the Pipeline Pro, his team mate Ryan Hardy took out the event even tough Pierre was going nuts in the final but not enough to get the 0,4 he needed to become the first european to win the contest. Later the same year , he twisted his knee s ligament just before the south american and european leg, Pierre still decided to follow the tour but didn t manage to get one good result, after such a good start in Hawaii, the end of the season was very disappointing , he still managed to finish 7 th in the ranking but wanted more of himself
in 2010, Pierre took out his first event in Brazil followed by an other victory in Peru with one of the biggest back flip ever completed in the bodyboarding history.Pierre also got the cover of Riptide magazine,one of the best achievement for a pro bodyboarder.He s the first french surfer to make a cover of an australian magazine.He finished this year 2nd in the Wolrd behind his fellow friend Amaury Lavernhe.
In 2011,Pierre has won the World Title after one of the most exciting year ever,Pierre was only in contention after winning the Event of Puerto Rico in November but needed the make the semi finals in the last Event at Fronton to take the title and expect Jeff Hubbard to lose early.When the hawaiian lost in the quarters,Pierre had his destiny in his own hands,he didn t let his chance go and went all the way to the semi finals,Pierre became the second youngest Wolrd Champion in the history of Bodyboarding.
Pierre has one of the craziest schedule for a young man of his age, he travels all around the world all year whether it s for chasing a swell, competing or spend time with his family or the girl he loves.
At only 22, Pierre possesses already 8 nationals titles, 2 europeans titles,one ISA World Title and one IBA World title.
While competing , Pierre is also always pushing the limits of the sport earning many sections in the best movies of our sports, scoring magazines covers in every mag around the World. Pierre won the best move of the year in 2007 with a massive air reverse at Pipeline.In the future he wants to be still pushing the limits of the sport, doing news moves, riding bigger waves and helps bodyboarding to be recognized as an extreme sport from everyone.
